"The Prince among Painters, the Painter among Princes." That's Raja Ravi Varma.
Rang Rasiya is based on the life and period of the renowned painter Raja Ravi Varma.
It is an adaptation of Ranjit Desai's Marathi novel on the painter. The film stars Randeep Hooda and Nandana Sen and will be released in both English and Hindi aptly titled Rang Rasiya and Colours of Passion respectively.
From sketching his imagination with charcoal on the walls of the Kilimanoor palace as a child, Raja Ravi Varma went on to change the collective Indian imagination by giving its goddesses and women real faces, bodies and emotions. His artistic vision extended beyond the canvas. He decreed to free art from the hold of the temples and palaces and bring it to the common man.
The film deals with the span of his life and relationship with his muse, Sugandha (Nandana Sen). Sugandha as the muse radiates the passion of Raja Ravi Varma (Randeep Hooda).
So get set to enter the colorful World of Raja Ravi Varma.
