Rhehna Hai Tere Dil Main

Engineering college scenario. Guys are all the same – Thugs. I always had  great respect for Engineers actually – thought they were very intelligent and suave. But this movie made me change my mind completely!

One senior fellow – Saif – is sober, good looking, decent . One junior fellow – Madhavan – is a ‘tapori’ (thug) – has a couple of ‘loser’ students under his wing and he is the ring leader. They are both in constant tiff with each other. In one incident Saif teaches a lesson to 2 of his friends for misbehaving with girls – by shaving off their heads. In reply to this, Madhavan bursts crackers and makes his friend piss in front of girls’ hostel door (oh! what a poor poor taste ! yuk!!) – and Saif gets the blame for it. Saif is suspended for 2 months !

So this is more or less the bitter relationship they share. They part ways. Saif passes out and goes to US, Madhavan stays in India with his father who is a music cd/cassettes shop owner.

Madhavan sees a girls and instantly falls in love with her (Diya). He wants her – by hook or by crook. He overhears a conversation that some Rajiv is coming from abroad to see her and marry her. He introduces himself as Rajiv – and purposely cuts off her telephone line connection so that she cannot confirm it from her parents or if accidentally the actual Rajiv rings her up. Thus he begins his courtship with her. Since she was under the impression that he was Rajiv – the fellow her parents had chosen for her as her life partner – she agrees to go out with him and spend time with him. She also gradually develops fondness for him.

But then the beans are spilled and Saif comes in the scene – Rajiv was none other than Saif ! She comes to know of what a cheat and liar Madhavan was. They break off and Madhavan is heart broken. Saif comes to know of their 7 days affair  and ultimately lets her go to him. End of movie.

Ps: In real life such a thing would never have happened. No sane girl would want to marry such a big liar, loser and manipulative thug ! Saif would never have let pretty Diya go to the lying ‘tapori’ thug that Madhavan was. Moreover compared to Madhavan’s looks, Saif was much better, sophisticated and suave to look at as well ! Thus Diya (in reality) would have married Saif.

By watching such movies, men (young boys) get the idea that girls are nothing but complete ‘Idiots’ – who are impressed by mushy sweet nonsense romance. Its not so in real life – esp. Indian girls. We are very practical and down to earth people – husbands are looked up at for security and protection – first and foremost – later if he also happens to be romantic then definitely it’s a plus point. We certainly wouldn’t like to go for cheap thugs !!
