A booming Indian economy and a bunch of women trying to ride this wave by investing in the stock market. Hmm Sound like a good humorous plot (stock market been assumed to be a guy thing) something new, may be that is what Warner Bros. must have thought when they decided to put their money in ?Saans Bahu and Sensex? . Yeah can?t really blame them because I was under a similar illusion I expected this movie to be a complete laugh riot and it looked like one the way it was promoted. But never judge a book by its cover
The movie has three flaws Shona Urvashi (Direction). The five years break has made her rustic and she has lost touch with direction she had managed to do a descent job with Chupke se , but with Saas bahu and Sensex it is just an ordinary effort. The movie doesnot have any flow or direction it just keeps on leaping from humor to emotions to patriotism and meaningless unnecessary dance numbers. I Knew that SBI(State bank of India) had colonies for their employees but never new even call center also followed the same trend , It seem everybody living in the colony is an employee of M&M call center.
Coming to flaw number 2 & 3 Masumi Makhija (acting) and Tanushree Dutta (Acting). Both these actresses have failed to shoulder their responsibilities properly in fact casting them in such challenging roles itself is a big mistake Masumi must have got the role just because it?s her home production. About Tanushree Dutta lesser the better, the character she portrays is of a young girl who is not happy about things that are going on in her life an extremely challenging role which requires things like anguish, frustration, helplessness and hatred to be expressed at the same time. What she manages to deliver is just a pissed off look.
But the movie saves it?s face due to the performances of two people Farooq Shaikh and Kiron Kher . Had it not been for these two fine actors the movie would have been an absolute disaster. Farooq Shaikh is awesome in the role of a cranky stock broker. Ankur Khanna has also given a descent performance.
Recommendation is watch it on DVD no need to go to cinema hall and waste your hard earned money.
