Overall a good movie to watch. Solid performance by some good actors. Shaurya is the movie about pride which differs from person to person.

u may not know this.. bt the storyline of this muvi is adapted from the hollywood muvi "a few good men" starring tom cruise. the muvi is almost a complete copy bt still a good one. Shaurya feels nothing until kay kay comes in. all the scenes he has, makes this muvi worth watching. esp the final courtroom scene ... his dialogue sends shivers down ur spine. watch this muvi for tat particular scene... kay kay simply delivers

Hey you all the Filmy Fanatics……………By Popular requests and a huge Public Demand…………UD’s Back as always  BETTER THAN EVER  ….:D…..this time also with something you’ll remember for a long time………….Movie Reviews of SARKAR RAJ and  SHURYA and  MERE BAAP PAHELE AAP and Also Music Reviews of Janne tu ya Janne naa…………. And Ada by the all time greatest musician and the living legend……MR. A R Rahman…And this is not all…I am also offffering you with the preview  Second  Most Awaited movie of this year after Dashavtaram by Kamal Hasan……> DRONA… Starring Abhisheik And Priyanka…………… So are you ready to be rocked????????????????

Well……….Shaurya in THREE words can be described as “  SHAURYA FOR SURE ” and the exact resons are depicted below………

Ø  Story :   The Movies with courtroom dramas have also interested me. And that’s one of the reasons why I was longing to watch Shaurya. And also the out of the box plot was also one of the reasons. And Shaurya doesn’t disappoint, though it falls at a few places. Overall, the film is extremely thought-provoking and exposes the viewers to a disturbing truth. The writers and director deserves a pat for choosing such a subject for a film. The film has several hard-hitting moments which remains etched in a viewer’s mind even after the film concludes…The story written by Samar Khan, Aparna Malhotra and Joydeep Sarkar was excellent though it was not original (taken from Hollywood flick A Few Good Men)… But hey the good work is always a good work…

Ø  Direction :  Well…….Samar Khan whom you might remember from the movie Kuchh  Meeetha Ho Jaaye  around three  years ago,did really surprise by giving  such a remarkable show in the movie…It also proves that he is capable of handling difficult subjects. He also deserves kudos for handling the film in a realistic and sensitive manner, without producing any hate or controversy. I hope he does well in his forthcoming films as well!.....SO best of luck to Samar Khan….Another Khan in the industry?....my god can’t you employ any persons who is not a khan?.........hahaaahha

Ø  Cast Performance :  The best performers of the film are without a shred of doubt Rahul Bose and Kay Kay Menon. This has to be Rahul Bose’s one of the finest performances of his career. The way he does his each role with utmost perfection is worth applauding. In Shaurya too, he was absolutely perfect and doesn’t disappoint or overact even in a scene. He claims that at present he has 10 projects in his hand and I am eagerly waiting for his 3 films-Maan Gaye Mughal-E-Azam, Mumbai Chakachak and The Japanese Wife. I hope all his 10 films are successful. Best of luck, Mr Bose! Kay Kay Menon was outstanding. Though he was there in a brief role, it is his outstanding performance which will remain in your mind for a long time after coming out of the theatre. His entry scene was terrific! In the climax, his speech in an angry tone shocks you as to what this actor is capable of! Kay Kay Menon has given memorable performance in movies like Chhal, Deewar, Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, Sarkar, Corporate, BLACK FRIDAY, Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd, Life in a…Metro etc but his performance in Shaurya stands out from the rest of his performances! Splendid work, Kay Kay!     Jaaved Jaaferi fails to impress. And he hardly had anything to do in the second half. I think he should concenterate only in comic roles. Deepak Dobriyal who impressed everyone in Omkara and 1971, again manages to come up with an excellent performance. He shines in the flashback sequence and the interrogation sequence. Minishaa Lamba looked great and gave a good performance. Seema Biswas was okay. Amrita Rao as Vikram Rathore’s wife gave a powerful performance, though she was there in a special appearance. The guy enacting the role of Vikram Rathore was also good. Others were fine………Oh yaar cast ke bareein mein ab nkuchh jyaada hi likh liya chalo aur kuchh baat kart a hun…;)…hahaaha

Ø  Music :   Adnan Sami did not impress this time at all………I mean it was just not his musical genmious….still one song….Dheere Dheere ….Nothing more t music section as you can always excuse the Music Director coz didn’t have such a romantic comedy type movie to make a music for…..nad everybody can’t be A R Rahman……hahahaha

Ø  Technicals : Cinematography was normal but in some aerial scenes, it was fantastic. Sanjid Datta, the editor, could have done a better job. Background score was proper. Aparna Malhotra’s dialogues were sharp, especially in the climax. MY Goodnes in the last Scene Kay Kay is hust Roaring. Like a lion…… he reminded me of Aby’s Baby in Guru…..oydeep Sarkar’s screenplay was excellent and gripping but lackluster in a few places.

Now.. lemme draw your attention to my favorite  scene in the movie where Kay Kay Asks to join Rahul Bose on a cup of coffee and after meeting him he humiliates him…then Rahul asks for Permission to leav but kay Kay tells him…” 36 days, 200  kilometeres. 350 person’s Work is neede to bring this little of coffee for you at his 18000 Ft. above in this cold…so if you don’t like coffee that’s fine but I won’t tolerate the disrespect of thoses efforts….so just have it…..”…..Claps claps…wow what a scene…….

Hope you enjoyed the review as much I did writing it…… this is really a nice movie…go and watch it….buy only Original DVD..it costs very minimal amount…..Avoid Piracy as it hurts the efforts of the all the guys I named above…..

UD….

It's a nice makeover of A Few Good Men with a lot of Indian touch to it. Though the script is inspired from the Hollywood movie, but the story is presented in an all new way. A very good movie to watch based on Indian Army with the back-drop of Kashmir. Great acting from KayKay Menon And Rahul Bose. The movie starts with the lighter side of Rahul Bose and ends with his serious side. The delivery of dialogues in the court room was really good. Overall a must watch for every movie buff.

its one of the finest movies made on indian army yet despite its rather clumsy end of minnisha remaining in jail but as a whole movie manages to grab your attention through fine storyline, superb direction, excellent storyline and it really looks like its our army army not any dreamy organisation of maa tujhe salaam.Cudos to makers for such an effort.

[B]SUAURYA IS A COPY OR OR WE CAN SAY IN GOOD LANGUAGE A FILM " INSPIRED " BY A FEW GOOD MAN STARRING TOM CRUISE. THOUGH IT IS NOT AS REMARKABLE AS THE ORIGINAL ONE BUT I DOES HAVE SOME ELEMENTS WHICH ARE WORTH WATCHING. FIRST OF ALL THE PLOT IS SENSITIVE AND TO SOME EXTENT SCRIPT WAS NICE IF YOU ACCEPT THAT NO MOVIE BY THE NAME OF A FEW GOOD MAN EXISTS. THE WHOLE STORY REVOLVES AROUND RAHUL BOSE A ARMY ADVOCATE WHO IS ASKED TO DEFEND A COLD BLOODED MURDER OF A HIGHER RANK OFFICER BY A LOWER ONE. BUT IN SPITE OF DEFENDING THE CASE HEZZ TOO BUSY IN HIS ADVENTURE SPORTS AROUND J & K . LATER HE REALIZES HIS MISTAKES AND HE TRIES TO SEARCH THE TRUTH BEHIND THE MURDER. MOVIE WAS BORING IN THE FIRST PART BECAUSE OF LACK OF CONTENT. YOU ALWAYS THINK THAT THERE IS SOMETHING MISSING WHILE WATCHING THE FIRST PART. IT LACKS PACE BUT THE SECOND PART WAS HANDLED WELL BOTH SCREENPLAY VISE N PACE VISE. RAHUL BOSE AS ALWAYS CAME IN A DIFFENT ROLE AND IMPROVISED I WELL . BUT HATS OFF TO KK MENON --- HE TRULY ROCKED EVERY MOMENT HE WAS AT SCREEN THOUGH MUCH TIME WAS NOT GIVEN TO HIM... JAVED JAFRII WAS OK ...AND THE ACTRESS OF THE MOVIE WAS NOT AT ALL REQUIRED. SHE ADDS EXTRA SLOWNESS TO MOVIE... CAMERA WORK IS GOOD ..LOCALS AROUND LOC ARE WELL SHOT ..DIALOGES ARE AN USP FOR THE MOVIE.. DIRECTION LACKS INTENSITY ...MUSIC HAS NO MAJOR PART TO PLAY IN THE MOVIE... WATCH IT IF U DINT WATCHED A FEW GOOD MAN ..

Shaurya..comes as a refresher amongst few dumb movies on the screen! Though inspired from the hollywood film A Few Good Men, still the movie has that touch, making it worth watching. Rahul Bose is descent making a good duo with commendable Jaffrey and Menon. Dialogues are impressive and the movie deals with a sensitive issue with caution. The threads are binded diligently which hold back the interest f audience through out. All in all...this movie comes at a good time and the team deserves accolade for their effort. There are few hitches here and there but overall..audience should find it compelling enough to watch.

Shaurya is not bad...it's dishonest

I wonder how can a filmmaker talk about "shauya" or pride or courage when he himself doesn't have any and is scared and finds an easy way out by remaking a successful Hollywood film A Few Good Men. If you can overlook the fact that it's a remake, which is very hard, you can say Shaurya is not bad. It has its moment especially when Kay kay or Deepak Dobriyal are on screen. They make their character come alive. KK does it with his amazing dialog delivery. Deepak does that with his silence. Weakest of all the actors are Rahul Bose and Minissha Lamba. They over act...they ham...say stupid dialogs...trying hard to match performances of Tom Cruise and Demi Moore in the original. But Javed Jaffery is a surprise. He handles his character with maturity. Not saying his irritating one liner or doing mimicry like he does in most films. One can't talk much about Samar Khan's direction bcoz best scenes in film are straight from the originals...rest whatever he does...especially stupid and dragging first half only hurts the film...

Samar Khan (Director) has given a lovely crafted movie, a controversial topic handled very delicately. The story is about a soldier who kills his fellow officer, there are musteries in the begining of the movie, why does he kill ? is he the Militant ?

Rahul Bose is an army lawyer, a happy go lucky guy, who becomes serious after he gets to know the reality. The movie  handles various topics, friendship and proffesionalism, patriotism, and moreover the definition of Shaurya (Courage) given by the director is awesoem. What is Shaurya is it killing somebody ? Is it standing in the line of fire ? to find out see the movie!

On the acting Deptt everybody has done a great job! Rahul Bose, Javed Jaffery, KK Mennon, Minissha Lamba. and the story is gripping, the viewer never loses its interest. However Minissha Lamba is not looking cute at all, probably bad makeup!

Overall rating: 4/5

The movie is about a court martial against Javed Khan (Deepak Dobriyal) who has shot his officer in command from point blank distance and is silent about it. Major Aakash Kapoor (Javed Jaffery) is roped in as prosecution lawyer and his friend, Major Siddhant Chaudhry (Rahul Bose), the most reluctant man on earth who wants to do nothing about anything, follows him by force. But to his misery, he is posted there as defence lawyer of the accused.

Siddhant is in deep trouble when he opens his mouth in front of a journalist Kaavya Shahstri (Minissha Lamba). As he does not know anything about the case, he speaks something which gets him into trouble. Then he is inspired by Kaavya’s sincerity and motivation about the case and her job. He then tries to dig the garbage on the case. Eventually the process transforms him into a grown up man and a good army lawyer.

He requests for inspection of the crime scene and there he gets to see the hatred against the army. Also there he meets Brigadier Rudra Pratap Singh (Kay Kay Menon) and his indispensable attitude.

Now how he moves further in this investigation? How he manages to catch the main crux of the issue. Why Javed is silent? Does he speak up? All this answer can be found in this really intriguing tale about everyone’s perspective of Shaurya i.e. Bravery and what really is Shaurya means.

The movie has come at the time which is remarkable on many front. The bollywood is turning to meaningful and issue-based cinema once again ( after 70's). And the Human right ,secularism and democracy are becoming the buzzword.

The story or the treatment has been taken from a famous Hollywood flick but  now it seems the issue of war-crime and atrocities coupled with bloated egos of top brass are prevalent everywhere.

The movie starts with a shooting of an officer by another officer and takes the viewers to the easy life of Maj. Siddhant Kapoor played effortlessly by gutsy Rahul Bose and Major A kapoor played sensibly by often insensible Javed Jaffery. Both the legal eagles of Indian Army.

The case was 'open and shut case' but deep down runs the torrid stream of hunger for Shourya, adulation, communalism and  dirty power. The top brass played by Kay kay menon is almost a drug addict , high on Single Malt and Seva medals.

The story is not new but we have been reading the incidents like this now almost regularly. The Brig. Ketchup case or other such cases are now really exposing the disciplined armed forces whose USP has been Bravery and Integrity.

Are we creating a monster in the form of Armed service should be the Q ringing on ur mind.

The movie is good if u like intense and compelling kind of cinema. Minissha Lamba looks gorgeous and plays her part as a journo from small place well.Cinematography catching beautiful valley of J & K is enchanting. Music by Adnan sami is apropriate.

The dialogues are excellent and are as sharp as barbed wire especially those lines by Kay kay. " Pig sweats and men perspire" and so on ..........

Go go go , watch and think..............
