This movie is excellent due to it's extraordinary story, but just because it is extraordinary, that does not mean it is good. Although this movie was not very entertaining, it was good. The acting was just not good. Aamir Khan just boosted up the movie a bit, especially if you like Aamir Khan. The music was not good either. It's good that Aamir uses different/new actors in his movies, because he gives people a chance to be on screen and get popular, but it's not entertaining if you have new actors especially if they don't even know to act well. So, before I mentioned that this movie is not very entertaining but it is good. It is good because it teaches you a strong lesson about how to behave with kids and that every kid is special. It also teaches parents how to behave with their kids. I am glad that Aamir Khan thought of such an idea, and that this film, Tare Zameen Par, exists. This movie is a must-see. It may not be entertaining, but it can be emotional and it can make you very happy, especially in the end. Overall, my rating for this movie would be 5.5/10, but if you really want to know the important rating (the movie and the story), I rate the movie 6/10, and the story 10/10. |

Taare Zameen Par.... in one word... "Touching" Well, what one could say about this wonderfully executed work of Realty on Celluloid? Yet, if i had to give a brief review of the movie as a critic, i would attemt it as follows: Story : The subject of the movie,Child Exlpoitation by the Society in several ways,was ,although universally acclaimed, was quite touching in every respect. Screenplay : After story the beatifully played Screenplay was the USP of the movie, I thought. First you see the dark side of the Hero Darsheel makes you hate him as he's shown as the most mischevious boy you would ever come across.... then the story takes a turning point as he's left alone at the boarding school... then the entry of Aamir is history... Cast : At the cost of being quite boringly Obvious, i would say that the hero of the movie was Darsheel Safary. How he emoted every Expressions with his not so cute looks. As always Aamir with his mind blowing performence as the supportnig actor made this movie complete. Not to forget the performence of Tisca Chopra, as she also played her part quite outstanding. Direction: Well Aamir wouldn't have directed such a beatiful creation had Amole not written the touching script of the year.. nevertheless it was an applauding debut from our master actor Mr. Aamir Khan. He did a marvellous job in handling kid especially Darsheel. I've seen such beatiful direction with kid in recent times in Black only. Music & Lyrics : Well, another great thing aboput the movie was theme oriented and situation based excellent music by Shankar Ehsaan And lloy(S.E.L.). S.E.L., wuold't have produced the magical tunes witout the amzingly approorate and beatifully crafted poetry of Prasoon Joshi. Remeber "tujhe sab hai pata hai na maa" or " tu dhup hai, jam ke bikhar" Just excellent... Over All: I would repeat my word earler, just "Touching"... |

this movie is specially for kids. ishaan is a boy with some type of a illness i m sure everyone in the world has seen it and if not see it at this very moment . and by the way i salute aamir khan for making such a good film. he should be making such movies throughout in his life |

Hi Friends, Taare Zameen Par is the best movie of the year 2007. I think Aamir Khan will gain a lot of respect now amongst the people of all generations across the world. This film is the only indian film which stands a real good chance to win the oscar award and that would be some feat. A must watch for parents and more so for the teachers. Aamir khan is really a genius and that little boy, i think, deserves to win the best actor award this time around. He has given a standout performance which is very commendable for a person of his age. Thanks, Rakesh |

The movie starts with our small Darsheel trying to catch a fish from a drain... and slowly and steadily Amir starts weaving on us the magic of a childs world. But the magic is not existent every where.....as our poor darsheel is beaten up by a bully and though not being at fault is punished at the same time. Irritated by Darsheels failures his dad ( has over acted through out) gets his admission done in a boarding school thinking its the luxuries which are spoiling his kid, not even trying to know what the problem was. The poor kid is in no mans land at the hostel. The very first hindi class teaches him that he was not a part of them, very aptly put in the dialogue of the physically challenged kid " poem ka asli matlab to tum ne kaha hain, baki sab to ratte hue jawab de rahe hain" His problem aggravates to such an extent that Darsheel stops painting and thats where Amir enters a dyslexic himself at childhood, he encourages Darsheel to paint the world in the colour he wants to and thats where our little hero comes on his own. The movie is a directorial master piece by Amir, you find your eyes moist almost through out the second half.. his directorial genious was aptly and well supported by the lyrics(Prasoon joshi) and the music ( Shankar ehsaan and loy). There are a lot of scenes which would make you choke because of the heavy sentiments buried deep inside yourself. Aamir has really bought a Taara Zameen par coz this kind of a story and movie deserves a place some where much above the echelons of the greats |

An incredible debut: Aamir Khan rocks! Taare Zameen Par is a movie that will make you sit up and notice, from the opening titles to the final credit roll, the 'perfectionist's' deft touch is seen everywhere. A simple story, crisply told, of a dyslexic boy, Ishant Avasti and his journey from being the “duffer" to "hero" and "darling of the masses". If I had one grouse with the movie, it would be this. You don't necessarily have to win, to be special! But given the nature of the story the director probably decided that he had to play to the gallery at some point... Ishant is the younger sibling in a Mumbai urban middle class family, living in a world all his own. He fails consistently at school and is constantly hauled up by parents, teachers and peers alike, for his inability to perform the simplest of tasks. What the world and his teachers don't know is that Ishant has a problem, dyslexia, a learning disability that manifests primarily as a difficulty with written language, particularly with reading and spelling. Unfortunately, and to quote from the movie, what they see are the "symptoms of a disease" that is not well understood even today by the teaching community. When matters come to a breaking point, the clueless father decides that boarding school will drive the 'devil of mischief' away and instill in Ishant the rigorous discipline that is needed for success in today's world. Distanced from his loving brother and mother, Ishant loses interest even in the one activity that had everyone hooked, painting. More of the same behaviour from the new set of teachers ensures Ishant's retreat into a shell and he quickly becomes incommunicado to the rest of the world. Enter Aamir Khan a.k.a Ram Shankar Nikumbh and what an entrance!, dressed as a circus clown and singing gibberish, the replacement art teacher mesmerizes his audience of nine year olds with a direct and open approach that as expected gains him ardent fans among the students and jeers from his colleagues. Nikumbh is intrigued by Ishant's behaviour and decides to investigate. He quickly discovers the reason for Ishant's silence and finds shades of his childhood fears mirrored in the young boy. Nikumbh visits the parents to confirm his suspicion and is appalled at the parents’ ignorance. The rest of the movie chronicles Nikumbh's attempt to educate the world (specifically Ishant’s) about dyslexia. Using appropriate instruction techniques Nikumbh helps the boy gain lost ground and regain his confidence. As the movie comes to a heart warming end, you feel, like all good movies do, that you have been part of an enriching experience. A brilliant performance by Darsheel Safary as young Ishant and a restrained effort from Aamir brings the story alive for the audience, reflected in the copious tears witnessed at the movie theatre. The music by Shankar, Ehsaan & Loy is predictable but interesting. Outstanding direction, great cinematography and a superb cast makes this one movie that you should watch! |
