A racy tale, the story is set on the backdrop of a small village that is near Madurai and living here is the 'Vennila Kabaddi Kuzhu' comprising of Marimuthu (Vishnu) and his childhood friends Murthy (Sundar), Sekar (Nitish), Ayyappan (Vairavan), Appu Kutty (Appu Kutty), Pandi (Pandi). Their only objective in life is win a Kabaddi tournament but then they never make it big. To add to all this, Marimuthu falls in love with a local village girl (Saranya Mohan) and just when things look like they are settling down, a twist of events take place and the gang finds itself at the threshold of a state level Kabaddi tournament. The folks in the village are sure that the Kabaddi Kuzhu will bite the dust right in the first round. However, in comes the tough coach Souda Muthu (Kishore) who begins to train these lads. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.
