Praneetha is Upendra’s heroine in Bramha

Director R Chandru has finally zeroed in on actress Praneetha to play Upendra’s leading lady in Bramha.

Earlier, Chandru had approached Trisha for the role as the film will be shot in Kannada and Telugu simultaneously. However, after Trisha rejected the offer, Chandru was on the look-out for another heroine, who would fit the bill.

Praneetha has now been chosen as she is a well-known face in both Kannada and Telugu.

Madhavan is back

 

Actor Madhavan hasn't been seen much in Kollywood off late. It is said that he had taken a break to rejuvenate.

Now, the actor is back to doing films here and has been sporting a beard. Quiz him about it and he says it was for his forthcoming film with Ken Gosh.

The actor was in Chennai a few days ago to present an award function and impressed everyone with his style.

Presently, Madhavan is in Jaipur, chilling out with good friends Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra. He hopes to return to Chennai soon.

Ramki in awe of Suriya

 

Actor Ramki, who is on the comeback trail after being out of action for many years, with a film titled Maasani, is keen to make his return count.

The actor, who has featured in several impressive films like Irattai Roja and Vishwanathan Ramamurthy among others, will also be seen in Biriyani and Vaaymai.

The veteran actor said he admired Suriya and was impressed with the hard work he put in to keep himself in shape to meet the requirements of the characters.

Aishwarya picks Priya Anand

 

Aishwarya Dhanush's hunt for a heroine for her next film Vai Raja Vai, produced by AGS Entertainment, seems to have ended.

If sources are to be believed, Aishwarya has picked Priya Anand of Ethir Neechal fame to play the female lead opposite Gautham Karthik in the movie.

Vai Raja Vai is said to be a musical entertainer with music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Priya Anand is said to be playing a modern girl in the film.

Lakshmi Menon is anxious about her results

 

Actress Lakshmi Menon, who has had a meteorical rise in Kollywood, is said to be anxiously looking forward to her standard 10 examination results.

Incidentally, the results are expected on Wednesday. Her next film Kuttipuli is edging closer to release and she said it was not on her mind and it was the exam results which kept her (mind) occupied.

Vijay’s ever rising popularity in Mumbai

 

Actor Vijay has wrapped up his Thalaivaa directed by A L Vijay and post-production work seems to be on with the shoot having been wrapped up.

The director (Vijay) is in awe of actor Vijay and hailed him as the superstar of the current generation.

He is hugely impressed by the response to Vijay's movies and said the Thuppaki star was mobbed during the shoot of Thalaivaa in Mumbai, which came as a huge surprise.

Neram opens to good responses

Debutante director Alphonse Putharen seems to have hit the right note with his film Neram. Featuring Nivin Pauly and Nazriya Nazim in the lead, Neram has garnered appreciable collections in all the centres across Kerala.

The young viewers of the state are flocking in groups to the theatres and are coming out clapping all the way. The viewers have opined that the movie is a great entertainer.

With the movie poised to have a Tamil release this week, this small budget entertainer will enter superhit status in a matter of few days.

Nivin Pauly in The Last Supper

Even as his first venture as an independent producer, Emmanuel, has turned immensely successful, George, the personal makeup man of Mammootty seems to have decided to focus more on his production activities.

He has announced a new film titled The Last Supper under his banner Sin Sil Celluloid. To be directed by debutante Vinil, the movie will have script by Sameer and Deepak.

Toofan gets into post-production

It is a known fact that Ram Charan Teja’s prestigious Hindi debut film Zanjeer is being released in Telugu as Toofan. The major shooting of the film was completed recently and has entered into post-production stage.

Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the film is remake of yesteryear’s super hit film of Amitabh Bachchan Zanjeer

Shriya Saran's Pavitra to release in Tamil and Malayalam

Pavitra, which has Shriya Saran playing the role of a prostitute and directed by writer turned director Janardhan Maharshi, will also be released in Tamil and Malayalam. The film’s Tamil version has been titled as Peru Maatrumdaan Pavitra whereas the makers have retained the Telugu title for the Malayalam version as well.
