BLUE, the Bollywood film is inspired from the 70s movie- the Deep. It is among the most expensive films ever made in Bollywood and costs a whooping 130 crores.  The film is all about ship wrecks and treasures lost somewhere in the deep blue waters. The hunt for the huge treasure and human behaviour is what the film aims at bringing out. The word blue brings to mind water. Even a little kid would associate blue with the lovely waters. The title for Anthony D’souza’s film Blue is thus, is apt considering the theme that it is based on.

The film has used a high degree of technical expertise for the shooting and bringing about the right effects. Ready to hit the theatres on the 16th of October 2009, Blue has already managed to create a lot of interest. With so much being said and written about it, the fans are eagerly awaiting the release of this movie which seems to be one of its kind in terms of the effects that it claims to be bringing up.

The film can boast of music from the Oscar winner A R Rahman. Rahman’s music has always been the hummable and pleasant to the ears and with an Oscar award to his name we can expect some great musical moments here.

Blue movie story – revealing the watery plot

The story of this expensive film revolves around a lost treasure. The three friends trying to find this huge treasure and the ups and downs, the problems and obstacles that they have to face during the journey to the treasure is what the film revolves around.

Money can solve a lot of problems, but on the other hand it can also create unwanted problems with people going to any extent to acquire the wealth. The trigger for deceit and betrayal money can bring about emotions of deceit and betrayal even among the best of friends.

Sanjay Dutt (Lara Dutta plays Sanju baba’s wife in the film) and Akshay Kumar are based in the Bahamas and play fishermen in the film, on the other hand, Zayed Khan is the rich influential flamboyant investor. Katrina Kaif plays a character with many grey shades. Atlast a challenging role for Katrina from the usual looking beautiful and doll on display in the showcase roles. With most part of the film being shot underwater the actors have been given special training and taken lessons in scuba diving for playing their parts to perfection.

Kylie Minogue sings for Blue

Kylie Minogue is another attraction that Blue holds. She was in the magical city of Mumbai for the recordings and the shooting. She was here for a short while and Akshay Kumar did play the perfect host while she was around. Sources report that Kylie has been paid a huge sum of Rs. 5 Crore for the film. Kylie sure did like her visit to Bollywood and although she kept far away from the fans and media, she did enjoy every bit of her stay here.

Only time will tell as to what magic Blue is able to weave. Will it create the expected impact…..or….
