Kidnap is the story of a guy kidnapping an industralists daughter and the clue-hunt that ensues after. The story is skewed. The basis of the story is in the exaggeration of small incidents. They look unbelivable, and hence it cant hold attention. There are some small (action) sequences which you may like, but nothing more. 

Acting wise, sanjay dutt was the only saving grace. Imran Khan has no expression, and no dialogue delivery; minissha , and vidya are equally pathetic.

Songs are too bad, and without context.

This is standard sanjay dutt forumala film - some dialogues, some action , some style, and plenty of skin show by minissha.

Bachna ae haseeno is just an okay film. the story is predictive and bollywood-ish, characters are week; characterization & build up is not good either.

Acting wise - all of them are fine. Ranbir,Deepika, Bips  did a fine job.  Minisha  was just okay.

I liked the songs. 

Its a general time pass movie, watch it if you have plenty of time or if u want to see some eye candy ! 

Watched sarkar raj just now. I found it little lacklustre compared to the hype and hoopla around the movie.

The story was just okay - at some places it was little unrealistic, but had a decent climax.

Acting wise, cast was okay. nothing fabolous, but nothing bad also.

At times the background score was too loud and unreasonable. The movie also had too much of stereotype RGV - loud music,  the sets, the camera angles - little too much :) 

Watch it - if you have spare time during the weekend... 

Showbiz is the story of media, journalists, and how media convolutes or rather constructs the story. This interplay is showcased with an interesting tale of 2 media barons, few journalists - both good and bad - and a celeb singer and his (lady) manager. of course there is love affair between them, and a fallout and then reapproachment between them.  Basic story is interesting ..

But then here ends the good part - there is (unneccessary & )ample amount of bollywoodish masala - love affair, unneccessary stoic silences ,breakups .. The film doesnt have depth. Many things too fast for the sake of moving the story. At the same time hero waits till the end to clear up some parts of his life - looks artificial .. 

Acting wise - its okay. but nothing compared to somewhat good levels which we see in bollywood nowadays. 

even though this  is a bhat camp movie, the MUSIC SUCKS !!

My advice - dont watch it. There were just 10 people in the cinema when I watched it ! It is a 1.5 starrer.  

I dont know whats up with bhat camp - I guess they just intend to earn money thru music only. I went to see the movie in inox - 10:40 AM show. and it was CANCELLED. Looked like noone came to watch this movie. If it gets cancelled in INOX (which is amongst the busiest in bangalore), then god save this movie !! cuz junta is not going to .. 

 Just a disclaimer - I havent watched this movie !

Taare Zameen Par is a movie about a child (Ishaan Awasthi) who is supposedly bad in studies, is naughty, doesnt listen, lives in his own world. He has a very normal family though -  hard working dad, dedicated mom, loving and  intelligent  brother.  He is always teased by his peers and he gets into fights with them, and with his teachers. Out of all this, his dad moves him into a boarding school. The story continues wherein ishaan's situation turns more worse in the boarding school. But then something good happens - amir khan (new art teacher) comes to his class, and notices his dismal state. But amir analyzes him and finds that he is dyslexic. He works on him, makes his parents realize how they were wrong. and then finally succeeds in getting a winner out of this child !! Makes us realize how proper care/training and understanding attitude can convert a so call looser child into a winner .

The movie is centered around the kid- Ishaan - in fact amir makes an appearance at  interval only. All of them have acted pretty well in the movie - kid is great, amir is his usual great.

I would recommend this movie to everyone. But I must warn its a little senti movie - the kid  is harrassed in 80% of the movie :) ! . this is not a usual bollywood stuff - a commendable feat for the first time director amir.  I would give it 3.5 stars

Welcome is a movie about gangsters(anil,nana) and their quest to get their sister(sanjana/katrina) married. On the other hand - Akshay's uncle (paresh) is bent upon getting him into a nice sharif family. Hence both of them are stuck on their marriage front. Now akshay & katrina meet by chance and fall in love. And then the story continues with ample amount of confusion, flip flops, dramas and has a happy ending :). 

It is a total masala movie - with many skits interveawed together. The movie is hilarious in some segments, but I found it slow/boring in some others. Its little lengthy also. 

Acting wise - every one is good. Feroz khan as RDX (god father) is awesome !. Katrina has improved a lot. Akshay,Anil,Nana are good actors anyway ..

Music is strictly okay - nothing great

Overall its at most a once watch movie - typical masala/fun movie. I would give it 3 stars ..  

#1) The story is about 2 men who meet in a train station. They both are frustrated with their married life. And then the story unravels some interesting things.

#2) Basic story line is interesting, but the characterization is pathetic. You dont understand whats the problem of jimmy shergil with his wife(sen), with his publishers. Similar is the case with KK - his life is screwed up with the death of his kid son, and his wife not being able to cope up with that .. He is never shown to try to fix his wife's problems... Bad characterization.

#3) also the climax was predictable. This thriller doesnt thrill. and becomes boring a nd languishes a bit in between .. 

#4) Acting wise - people were okay .. nandana's accent is better then before .. kk , jimmy ,

My take  - Avoid It 

KKC is  story about Nikhat(Soha Ali Khan) and her entry into bollywood. The tale starts from her teens - how she has a troubled childhood, how she is cajoled by her mom to be in movies. Its pretty interesting and fast moving. There are several independent figures like Prem(Rajat,Reigning superstar); Vinay Phatak,  Khosa (a typical Film producer), Ratanbala (Reigning star actress), Zafar(shiney) - upcoming script writer. Each one of them has an interesting story. Of course the stories mingle in the character's love and work life. Portrayal of some of the aspects of life is pretty neat - how people use others to forge his/her goals, and how this is fine to everyone!!; how people move on .. . The movie continues to showcase how soha is used by others(prem,zafar, her mom/step-dad,first producer), and how she uses others. Zafar is soha's main love interest and there (obviously) tensions between them over their career paths. Lots of ups/downs in the movie - but in the end zafar makes a blockbuster with nikhat .....

The first half is interesting, but movie becomes little expected and sluggish in the second half. 

Acting wise - everyone was good. rajat,soha,ratnabala,khosa(producer). Somehow I dont like shiney that much :). Film has good actors. Characterization of each individual is  good - the producer, the stars , the strugglers - all of them are potrayed in apt terms. Screenplay is nice too. Director created the era of 60s pretty nicely - Songs, Sets, Costumes, Dialogue - all of these create a different era altogether- amazing feat.

Songs are pretty neat, and fit in nicely with the movie.

Overall, I would give it 3.5 stars. its watchable once. I am not rating it too high because I find the second half of story sluggish and little inconsistent.

Dus Kahaniyaa is a sequence of 10 stories :) (what else to expect ?). All of them are independent of each other. Each film has a little twist in it - I liked most of the movies. Some of them were pretty neat. The themes of the movies varied from gangster,love story, ghost, collegiaps, marital discord, hindu-muslim angle - good variety !

The best point was if you get bored with a film (I didnt like 2 of them), it ends in less than 15 mins :).

I liked the concept.  I would recommend everyone to go and see this film !  

Jabe we met - is a simple about a bubbly,chirpy girl (kareena)from punjab working in bombay, and an industrialist son (shahid). Shahid has lost his dad, and his girl friend, and hence is feeling low. So he decides to just leave - and takes a train . here he meets kareena. Kareena's chirpy, talkative (opposite to shahid). The conversations that follow in the train would leave you rolling on the floor. Shahid & kareena then go to her parents place in bhatinda, where she plan to run to manali to marry her lover. Shahid (inspired) heads back to bbay and now becomes successful. It turns out kareena is out of touch with her parents for a long time. Watch the movie for the rest of the story :) ...

The characterization is amazing. Kareena/Jeet - the chirlpy punjabi girl is so nicely put. Kareena has a very strong character in this film and she rules all over it. Kareena has also acted very well and suits the role.. Shahid the industrialist son, All the surdars in punjab, the baosting grandfather, The reluctant lover - ALL are done so nicely and all of them look so real.

Songs are good. And for a change - they are  in proper context. Just loved all of them ..

My final take  - I can watch it again and again. The movie is a complete family entertainer! 

Gauri - the uborn is about a family (hubby,wife,girl-kid). It starts off with the girl kid wanting to go back to their ancestral home for vacation. It turns out that girl-kid is haunted by ghost of ..... Simple and neat concept. My giveaway -it has a happy ending :) .  The story is simple. Also the movie is not scary ...

Acting wise - its okay. The start of the movie has some overacting by the kid and ritupurna..

My take - its watchable once.

 The movie is about the southall football association and how their team tries to win the league. and Here ends anything good about the movie. Everything else in the movie is trash, farce.

* The buildup for the reasons to win the league was pathetic. It was irrational - something happened in 1985 and tony (the coach,boman irani) wants to redeem his esteem. Arshad warsi is passionate about the club - they dont tell whats the reason. And their are others who are mid-aged family persons, but are in this football for unknown reason, and are sacrificing some part of their life  for playing football.

* The movie then lingers on and on. These guys start winning without actually doing anything ... I couldnt digest the idea of these pot bellied guys winning against professional teams :)  

* And then it has the cliched ending with (professional ) footballer joh abraham joining the southhall team, then leaving it for money, and then joining them again in the final match - and you dont have to guess who finally won ! 

* They use the desi(indian/pakistani/bangladeshi)-firang racist angle everywhere & anywhere. dont want to delve in too much detail, but its cheap.. 

* Acting wise boman,arshad, and john are fine. Bips has a useless side role.

My take - dont waste your time watching this movie.

* Its storyabout a guy (john abraham), his fight about quitting smoking, and this sri sri baba bengali.

* There is no point writing more about the story line.

* Its a new genre ! - is more than a thriller,

* I liked it :) .. definitely worth a watch, more than once.

* Good acting by john, paresh rawal and others.

Bhool bhulaiyaa is okayish movie. I had the perception that its a comedy or its about ghosts ; and it isnt about either. It is a thriller , pretty new concept ... I wouldnt delve into the story since it is a thriller ..

acting wise - except shiney, everyone is fine.. shiney has that flat face and flat dialogue delivery .. he should take sabbatical from bollywood for a while and join an acting school.. akshay and vidya balan are good...

The movie should have been shorter, and more crisper.. the forced comedy in the beginning is totally unwarranted, and it is more irritating than comical..

I am still giving it a 3 star cuz the climax was pretty neat.. the basic concept of the thriller is good ..  

Laaga chunari mei daag is story of two sisters ( rani & konkana) in banaras, how rani goes to bbay because of financial problems, and then cuz of circumstances she has to be become a call girl.  Neaty showcases the sentimental sides of such a cicumstance .. Pretty simple story, - I liked it. The only twist was there was no twist in it

Acting wise - movie has seasoned actors - rani, konkana, anupam kher, jaya - so as expected good acting.. kunal kapoor's acting  was little lousy though.

Movie gets little slow in between - especially in the beginning whey they are showing the financial problems of rani and her family ..  Hema malini's mujra dance was unwarranted..

final take - its watchable once ..  

wow what a movie !! Its a great great thriller. Story is amazing, moves slowly and keeps you engaging and guessing ... Dont want to talk about the story since its a suspense/thriller.. 

Acting wise - it was okay. But acting is not the mainstay of the movie anyway.

Its a must watch !! - you would get that pulp-fiction kind of flavor in it ..

This is a pretty simple, yet engaging story about a man (anil kapoor) and his nagging wife (suchitra). Suchitra dies accidently in a fight between anil and her. And from there starts anil's miseries .... great, simple story ..

Acting is pretty neat. anil acted well. suchitra was excellent.. boman as shrewd policeman was good..

direction and camerawork is pretty neat too.  

This is a must watch movie.. esp. if you are fed up of those me-too love stories.... 

Manorma six feet under is great suspense movie. Its definitely a hatke movie, and you wouldnt see this genre released too often in bollywood. Nicely made..

I wouldnt go in any detail about the story - its a suspence afterall !! .. But its great story, keeps you hooked up till the last moment. I was discussing it even hours after watching. All the ends are nicely connected !!.. 

Acting is okayish. Abhay is okay. Gul Panag is just okay.. Somehow abhay has got a chance to act in these amazing hatke movies - lucky chap. He has definitely made his mark in this overcrowded new comers group ...

My take is - its a must watch !! 

This movie is great comedy. The storyline is simple - a bunch of friends, a police inspector, are after 10 crore rupees . and how they get it and then .. A good amalgamation of small skits, they are intervead nicely .. .

 overall a must watch, saw a clean comedy after so long time !

Darling is pretty okayish movie. Its about a guy aditya (fardeen), his wife (isha kopikar) and his secretary lover (esha deol). Fardeen has an affair with esha deol, but still doesnt want to divorce his wife. On top of it, esha dies in an accident. and comes back as a ghost !! The ultimate dialogue then from esha is Jeena Haram Kar doongi, and she means it.  Dont want to go into detail, but it has a happy ending :).

Its not a classical horror, and has good amount of bollywood masala in it. Sometimes one cant stop laughing at the fardeen's pitiful state.

Acting is okayish, Fardeen, Esha are better than okayish. Its a tough job for Fardeen to portray those terrified look.

Overal, once watchable .  

I just dont want to waste my time describing this pathetic movie. I left the theatre in between.

story has some serious lapses . for example - original sholay's story line of how jay/veeru land up in jail is amazing , and so consistent. In the aag version its screwed up .. Such srweups are all over the place in this version. Director/script-writer has tried to match some sequences with the original one without looking if the context makes sense. 

Characters are week - gabbar is now babban - while gabbar was a strong character - a fearsome bandit - very relevant to those time. While God knows what is babban  ? Thakur is inspector Narshimha(mohanlal) . His acting is pathetic, and he has that south-indian tinge in his hindi .. found it very irritating .. Without going into details , everyone from jay-veeru -... all were bad in this new movie. 

This movie lacks big time in all the departments - Story, Acting, Characterization, Fight sequences, songs, . It looks like RGV hired tons of amateurs/interns and got this movie completed. Its a complete TRASH . 

my take - dont watch it . never watch it !! 

Heyy Babyy is totally fun movie - though the  fun and comedy is crude and some people may not like it. Its a story about 3 casanova guys - ritesh, akshay, and fardeen khan and how a little baby girl enters their life and changes it completely.

Total cheap fun ! I laughed my lungs out. Of course since little baby is in the scene - there is a bit of emotional content too..

Story line is just okay, Acting is good.

BTW, the movie starts with a song which has 13 bollywood actresses in it - an awesome coup by the directors. All of them are hot. There is a 2 minute cameo by SRK in another song !! 

I would recommend to watch it with  friends. Is a one time watch .

Kyaa Kool hai hum is ulti funny comedy. The jokes are cheap ! but you would laugh your guts out !! . Its a stort about 2 guys (ritesh & tusshar) . tusshar pretends to be ultimate casanova and boasts about his flings , but in reality he gets thrashed for some reason or other. tusshar is looser as far as girls are concerned , but on the advice of a purohit, he is looking for a girl who would have til on dil. At the same time tusshar is suspected of being a serial killer and a lady police officer ( isha koppikar) goes undercover to catch him.

 Pretty neat story, it moves fast, and is consistent. Total laugh riot!

watch it with friends only.. some of the jokes are pretty crude .. 

Chak De India is about sportsmanship, and the fight/ of the ex hockey captain Kabir Khan (SRK) to avenge the disgrace of lost final match in the world cup.  Kabir fails to score in the penalty, and  india looses against pakistan and he is branded as traitor .. Kabir comes back after 7 years as the coach of the indian women's hockey team. What follows is fight of kabir and 16 players to win  the world cup.

Movie is light, and has some good comical moments. The 16 girls are from different parts of india and of course all of them their own idosyncrasies. Also there is fair bit of inspirational segments - the coming back of kabir, and the coaching of the girls by kabir .. good ..

 acting is good . SRK has acted little better than okayish.  Noone of the new girls was bad...

Its a great family watch ...   

The movie depicts the relationship of mahatma gandhi with his son hiralal, how the phililophies and idealogy of bapu affects the upbringing of hiralal. Hiralal becomes a failure in life. The movie doesnt seem to take sides, but gives factual representations of hiralal's upbringing, hiralal-bapu's relationship, and then further moves on to hiralal's misdemeanors.

Everyone acted well in the movie. Akshaye's acting was pretty neat. There were no songs in the movie :) 

My personal take is that Mahatma was responsible for the  hiralal's bewildered life. As a kid cuz ofgandhi's idealogy etc. he didnt get a normal upbringing, not even a formal education. Gandhi screwed up his life. I felt gandhi used his son to further his own purpose by pushing him in satyagraha etc.

I liked the movie. Its little slow, little emotional - but still pretty good.

Cash story is too compilcated - Its a story about 1 (which becomes 3 afterwards) diamond and how the thief (gang ?) tries to steal . There are 5-7 main characters - and its litterally a mess to undestand the connections between them. The story ties up okayish in the end, but its way too complicated ..

Cash music is okayish . Its has hip-hop  style numbers - some of them are pretty catchy ..

It lacks in all the departments. The overused animated sequences look cheap. The movie looks like a sequence of slide-shows. The action sequence are cheaply funny. The dialogues are lacking. Wuh .. 

Its a dhoom 2 kind-of movie, but done in a worse way. So u know what u get when u take a bad movie as inspiration and execute in a bad way ...  

My say - please avoid it. Its better to do anything else. 

Pratigya  is a good wholesome movie - good & fast moving story , okayish songs, good comedy. 

 An illiterate truck driver (dharmendra) comes to know from his dying psudo-mother about his original police family and how his whole family was killed by bharat daku. He decides to avenge his family's death. The story gets interesting with dharmendra grouping together a village police force to do that ..  good story - neat & fast ..

Everyones' acting is pretty neat. All the side-actors (jagdeep,johhny , keshto mukherjee) have acted well and these side-actors are a great comedy. awesome fun to watch these guys.

Overall its definitely a one time watch. 

Partner is pathetic movie. I hadnt seen any david dhawan movie till now, but this one is complete trash. Its amalgamation of some random skits. first few ones look fine, but then it becomes boring afterwards. after few times, the silly jokes become irritating. I lost interest in the movie after first half hour.

Sallu has acted bad - I dont know why - he is such a veteran but is still pathetic. Govinda has acted neat.. but the overall movies lacks in this dept. 

my take - avoid it  . Its better to do anything else.

ECKLL is a fast moving thriller. Its a story about a guy (abhay deol) , girl (neha dhupia), their missed local and then .. well I would go into any more detail - its gonna ruin your movie. But the story is awesome .. There are so many turns, twists. Movie always remains unpredictable. Its engrossing.

At the same time it has comedy.. the potrayal of abhay deol as a boasting dilliwala is great . His thought process is  fun ..

Other parts of the movie - acting , screenplay, dialogues are all great ! 

Overall a must watch.
