Janaradhan Wishvanbhar Rane (Paresh Rawal) a widower has spent his life bringing up his two kids Chirag (Manoj Joshi) and Gaurav (Akshaye Khanna). Janaradhan has done everything for their kids to bring them up in the best possible manner, ever since they were toddlers. Now when the duos have grown up; Gaurav takes up responsibility of his father. They both manage the household chores and their business with best of their abilities. Though he is the younger son, he treats his father like his son. Gaurav is on the guard with the vigilance of a disciplined parent. He shouts, threatens, and fights – even locks up his father occasionally so that his prankster best friend Madhav Mathur (Om Puri) who is a divorcee, desperate to get married, does not spoil him.

Madhav and Janaradhan who are always in search of bride for Madhav forever land up in trouble and every time Gaurav has to bail them out and face the embarrassment.

Gaurav busy managing his business starts getting prank calls from a girl who turns out to be his old college friend Sheekha Kapoor (Genelia D’souza). Sheekha is staying with her guardian Anuradha (Shobana) who is also Paresh’s first love.

Gaurav and Sheekha notice changes in behavior of Janaradhan and Anuradha when they come face to face after many years. They come to know about their past relationship. Now Akshay wants his father to get married to his lost love.

Gaurav and Sheekha embark upon a rib-tickling journey to arrange his father’s love marriage and in the process find soul mates in each other. Of course, the path is not so smooth: there are obstacles. But then, Madhav’s desperate desire for a bride comes handy. How this trio tries to arrange Janaradhan’s and Anuradha’s love marriage is a fun ride to watch.

Aamir produced by the experimental wing of UTV – UTV Spotboys by debutant Rajkumar Gupta comes across very much unlike any UTV film lacking promotion and publicity. The film starring Rajeev Khandelwal , the face of Indian television comes across as the so called smaller film of the week.

Synopsis….

Aamir, the name, means leader, but the protagonist [Rajeev Khandelwal] becomes a follower out of fear. The moment Aamir lands in Mumbai, he's transported to a world he never knew: The dingy areas of Mumbai. In its lanes and bylanes, cheap restaurants and lodges, amongst nameless pimps and whores, run-down buildings and over-crowded markets, filth and squalor, Aamir sees a different world in those few hours.

Aamir may not have been promoted well but the film from no angle is a small film. The script is splendid with a theme so universal such as terrorism. Raj Kumar Gupta excels with his storytelling and draws the viewer within the first 15-20 mins.

One element that works with the film is its length which is barely 2 hrs and the absence of unwanted monotonous songs. The hero does not break into any dance number or flashback sequences filled with the accommodation of some tracks but instead the music only acts at the background.

Another element that keeps the film going is the locations used which are the realistic bylanes within the city and the splendid cinematography. This is one film that comes as a complete exception of all bollywood rules with a film with no heroine, no supporting cast , no item numbers  etc.

It’s purely the director’s vision carried forward by Rajeev Khandelwal’s splendid acting and the excellent cinematography. The movie is a must watch. Take a look at every character used in the film be it the whore at the lodge, the men at the restaurant etc. Simply terrific.

As far as the locations are concerned it is splendid . Take a look at the lodge , the restaurant , the bylanes , the toilet sequence ; its remarkable and gripping.

Rajeev Khandelwal does a terrific job . The actors delivers well and carries the trauma and frustration the character Aamir undergoes with ease. Khandelwal comes as a revelation to Bollywood. He surely deserves much more from bollywood. Looks like lots of talent lies within the Indian television industry.

On the whole, Aamir comes as a complete surprise and emerges as the true winner of the week. Aamir is definitely a must watch and proves that a good film in bollywood can indeed be made without songs and without any big names. Ultimately, it’s the script that is king. Don’t miss the climax of the film; it’s very much unlike most bollywood films

Meet Jai Singh Rathore - 'Rats' (Imran Khan), the most non-violent Rajput either side of the Aravallis. And meet, if you dare, the violent and passionate Aditi Mahant - 'Meow' (Genelia D'Souza). Whatever you do, do not pick a fight with her. She scratches. And abuses. If you do get into a scrap, take cover till Jai arrives, as he alone can calm our snarling wildcat.

Jai thinks Aditi's parents should have rinsed her mouth with soap when she was a child. Aditi thinks that Jai is the biggest coward she has ever encountered. There is nothing Rajput-like in him. Heaven has mixed up its apples and oranges.

Rotlu weeps secretly for Aditi. Bombs' heart explodes for Jai. Jiggy applies golden mascara to his hair. Shaleen… well, she's probably the only one who doesn't seem a few notes short of a concerto.

Jai and Aditi are perfect for each other (in some odd, distorted way, impossible to understand). Friends know this. Parents know this. Everybody knows this. But do Rats and Meow know?

Can two people ever, truly, know the secrets of their hearts? And how do you know it's the real thing? Will they find love in each other? When do you know it's love?

Adding to this, a quarrelling portrait and many problems ahead...

JAANE TU YA JAANE NAA arrives under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions and PVR Cinema.

Produced by Mansoor Khan and Aamir Khan with director Abbas Tyrewala at the helm, the film which has music by A.R. Rahman and lyrics by Abbas Tyrewala also stars Naseruddin Shah, Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan, Arshad Warsi, Ratna Pathak and Paresh Rawal in a special appearance.
