Raj Malhotra, Priya, Haseena Bano Jaan, Gill & Batra.
Aziz Mirza is known for his feel-good factor in his creation, like serial like Nukkad, movies like Raju ban gaya Gentleman, Yes Boss, Phir Bhi Dil hain Hindustani and now Kismat Konnection. All his creation targets a middle-class guy as a central character.
An ambitious, middle class guy, with lots of talent, dreams to achieve big in his life. Sound similar to Yes Boss. Yes, you are correct, but this time its not apna SRK, but its Shahid, who shares SRK's fav name, Raj Malhotra.
Raj is a architect based in Canada, who is a college topper, but a big loser in his professional life, which is in a bad shape. According to him, he has a bad Kismat, which never konnects. So, he goes to an astrologer, Haseena Bano Jaan, played by Juhi, who suggest him to find a lucky charm who will solve Raj's problems and make him reach the peak of success.
Raj meets Priya (Vidya), with whom he always end up fighting. But, Raj comes to know that Priya is his lucky charm when she strikes him, while Raj is playing an impossible snooker shot to win Gill's (Om Puri) confidence. Vidya is playing a similar character as in Lage Raho Munnabhai, who has a community center, which will be demolished by Gill & Batra builders to make a Mall.
I dont want to tell the whole story over here. But, as I said, Kismat Konnection is a mixture of Yes Boss (in 1st Half) and Lage raho Mumnnabhai (2nd Half).
Still, Aziz Mirza wins to make a goody goody movie, which has some nice moments between Shahid-Vidya, speech at the end by Shahid to prove his point.
Kismat Konnection is a one-time watch, for Shahid's hard work, Vidya's charm, Juhi's natkhat Kurkure nakharas and other characters who make the film a bit crispy. I feel the first half is really good, which shows Raj struggling hard to get his kismat on a right track, but the second half goes a bit ticky-tacky as Raj starts feeling guilty for cheating Priya and all. But, at the end everything goes fine and public comes out of the theatres in a nice mood.
Songs are relly good and have shot well.
"Ae Papi" and "Move your Body" sounds really cool and peppy with Shahid's good moves,
"Is this Love" and "Bakhuda" are nice romantic songs with a good cozy chemistry between Shahid-Vidya.
All in all watch this movie, if you want to see a goody-goody, feel-good movie, typically an Aziz Mirza type.
!!Cuddos to Aziz Mirza to make a regular movie, but with some different style and touch!!
