Sudeep should have won National Award, says Rajamouli

After receiving the prestigious National Awards for Eega, the filmmaker SS Rajamouli and producer Suresh Babu expressed their profound gratitude to the jury for having selected the film and were very thankful to them.

Viswaroopam became the most talked-about movie in the first quarter of 2013, not only because of the controversies but because of its quality content and quality of film-making. 

To add to all of this, the film has also bagged two prizes at the 60th National film awards announced on Monday. 

It has been a rather good harvest for Tamil cinema as Vazhakku En 18/9 has bagged the best Tamil Film award and also won Raja the award for best make-up artist. 

Sudeep-RGV to team up again

Maverick director Ram Gopal Varma is all set to direct another multi-lingual soon. According to the sources RGV has approached Eega fame Sudeep for the lead role. It is being said that Sudeep has agreed to be part of this new project, which is said to be based on the media. It is hinted that Sudeep plays the role of a media baron with grey shades in the film.

Rajamouli's mother passes away

S S Rajamouli, the man behind the hugely successful Naan Ee lost his mother on Saturday (Oct 20).

For the director, who has made a mark in Bollywood with the Hindi version of Eega, the news must have come as a jolt.

Sources said Rajamouli's mother Rajanandini was suffering from a serious illness and succumbed on Saturday. The film fraternity mourned the death of Rajamouli's mother.
