Gautham Karthik and Yuvan bond

Actor Gautham Karthik of Kadal-fame is in the news for signing a few new projects, one of which will be directed by Superstar Rajinikanth's elder daughter Aishwarya Dhanush. 

The other one is to be helmed by cinematographer-turned-director Saravanan. 

A common factor among the two movies (Aishwarya's Vai Raja Vai and Saravanan's Sippai) is that Yuvan Shankar Raja is scoring the music for both.  

Mani Ratnam's next is a Hindi film

Mani Ratnam has been embroiled in problems of his own after his recent Kadal failed to sizzle at the box-office. However, he seems to have moved on from that.

There are speculations in K-Town that he is gearing up to do a Hindi film next. This film will supposedly have India-Pakistan partition issue as its background and romance will have a major role.

Sources have it that Mani Ratnam is presently on the lookout for young actors for his ambitious project.

Arjun to return to direction

Actor Arjun, who is known as the Action King in Kollywood, continues to light up the screen with his performances. 

He won a lot of praise for his roles in Kadal and Vana Yuddham. And now, he is all se to return to direction. 

If sources are to be believed he would helming a film for noted producer Aascar Films Ravichandran. Interestingly, the project is said to be titled CM, translating to Common Man. Arjun will also be playing the protagonist in the film. 

Distributors demand refund from Mani for Kadal debacle

Distributors are demanding Mani Ratnam and his Madras Talkies to compensate for the losses they have faced due to Kadal. The production house has come out with a clarification. In a statement, it said: “Madras Talkies had sold their film Kadal [Tamil and dubbed Telugu versions] to Gemini Industries and Imaging Ltd in March 2012 itself on MG basis.”

Mani Ratnam's much awaited Kadal hit theaters this week. It sees the debut of two star kids, Gautham Karthik and Thulasi Nair.

Arjun and Arvind Swamy play pivotal roles. The film's music is by A R Rahman.
