Rajini's next with Eros

Rajini has apparently signed his next film with Eros International. The film is to be directed by K V Anand of Ko-fame and is expected to go on floors after Kochadaiyaan and Rana are completed. 

The title, cast and the technical team are yet to be decided for the film which is to be made on an approximate budget of 100 crores.  

Karthika lands Malayalam biggie with Mammooty?

Though actress Karthika Nair made a strong start to her career with Ko, she hasn't been able to get a strong foothold in Kollywood. She is part of a few films including Bharathiraja's Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum and Arun Vijay's Deal.

K V Anand turns 45

Cinematographer-turned-director K V Anand, who has given blockbusters like Ayan and Ko, turned 45 on Tuesday. Colleagues from the film industry wished Anand on social media websites.

Anand was among the sought-after cinematographers before took up direction and made a mark in that chosen area. He is known for his penchant for exotic locales and his work in Superstar Rajinikanth's Sivaji came in for wide appreciation. He won the national award for best cinematography for his work in Thenmavin Kombathu.

Ravi K Chandran all set to make Yaan

The stage is set for the making of Yaan which will be the directorial debut of noted cinematographer Ravi K Chandran. The makers, RS Infotainment, are bracing up for a grand show after the success of Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaya, Ko and Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal.

The film will star Jiiva as the hero while the female lead will be actress Radha's younger daughter Tulasi, who is making her acting debut in Mani Ratnam's Kadal.

Karthi dubs for Suriya

Suriya is a leading star in Kollywood and his younger sibling Karthi is a star in his own right. While Suriya has been around for over a decade and climbed the rungs the hard way, it has been a rather swift rise for the younger son of veteran actor Sivakumar.

Now, all eyes are on Suriya-starrer Maattrraan which is slated for release next month. The film directed by Ko-fame K V Anand is being dubbed and released in Telugu too.

Tulasi bags film with Jiiva

Actress Tulasi who is making her debut in ace director Mani Ratnam's Kadal seems to have landed her second project. It is said that she will be donning the female lead opposite the in-demand Jiiva in cinematographer Ravi K Chandran's directorial debut Yaan.

Tulasi is the younger daughter of yesteryear actress Radha and sister of actress Karthika. Incidentally, Tulasi is doing her second film for producers Elred Kumar and Jayaraman of RS Infotainment who launched Karthika opposite Jiiva in Ko.

Arun Vijay to pair up with Karthika

Arun Vijay has been flying high post the success of his last release Thadayara Thakka. He is now gearing up for his next project Deal which is to be produced by Feather Touch Entertainments. The movie will be directed by newcomer Siva Gnanam and is set to go on floors on September 29 at Theni, with the formal puja slated a day earlier at Palani.

It is said the film will be a comedy and Sathish of Malai Pozhuthin Mayakathile and Marina will be sharing screen space with Arun Vijay.

A lot riding on Mugamoodi for Jiiva

Mugamoodi is probably the biggest and most prestigious film actor Jiiva is doing, maybe after the multi-starrer Nanban directed by Shankar. The much-delayed movie directed by the widely-acclaimed Mysskin, is supposed to be a superhero subject and brings with it a lot of expectations.

The shooting was wrapped up some time ago and the stage is set for the music to be launched in Chennai in a couple of days’ time.

Sanjay Dutt in Kollywood!

Scores of Kollywood stars have tried their luck in Bollywood at various stages of their career. However, the B-town actors haven't had much of a stint down South, especially men. Shahrukh Khan has featured in a film or two while the presence of others is negligble.

Now, it is emerging that Bollywood hunk Sanjay Dutt will be seen in a Tamil film soon. It is said that he has accepted Ravi K Chandran's invitation to act in a movie that the cinematographer will directing.

Karthika's advice to sister Thulasi

Karthika Nair has a word of advice for her little sister Thulasi, who is set to enter Kollywood with Mani Ratnam's film Kadal, which is busy in the making.

The Ko actress said that Tulasi has come under the wings of ace director Mani Ratnam and his actress wife Suhasini Mani Ratnam, who are taking good care of her. However, she is of the opinion that Tulasi should learn by herself. In this regard, Karthika said that she wasn't spoon-fed by mother Radha and learnt on her own to be at her natural best.
