Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies is said to have obtained the Tamil Nadu theatrical rights of director Ahmed's Endrendrum Punnagai starring Jiiva and Trisha in the lead.
The film also has Vinay, Andrea Jeremiah, Nasser, and Santhanam in important roles while music is by Harris Jayaraj. Shooting is said to be on in full swing.
A lot is riding on Siddharth-starrer Udhayam NH4, which is directed by newcomer Manimaran, a former associate of Vetrimaaran.
The film, touted to be a road story, has newbie Ashrita Shetty as the heroine and is expected to release sometime in May.
The buzz now is that the trailer may be screened in theatres from March 15.
Udhayanidhi Stalin, who has bagged the distribution rights of the film in Tamil Nadu wrote on Twitter, “UDHAYAM Trailers wil b played in all theatres frm dis Friday !”
Music director Harris Jayaraj, who is known for his romantic numbers, is headed for Bali in Indonesia.
Sources said he is heading to the island to compose songs for Udhayanidhi Stalin's next Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal directed by S R Prabhakaran of Sundarapandian fame.
Harris also tweeted, “Have come to Bali (Indonesia) for the composing of IKK.”
Bali is an in-demand tourist destination and Harris has said the place provides him a calm setting to work on his music.
There was talk that Nayanthara was set to do the bikini act in the ongoing film with Ajith being directed by Vishnuvardhan. Meanwhile, the actress, who did the same (bikini act) in Billa a few years ago, has denied it. Also, she has said she would never repeat it again in her films.
Nayanthara has a handful of projects in her kitty including Raja Rani with Arya, and one with Udhayanidhi Stalin directed by S R Prabhakaran.
Udhayanidhi Stalin’s second project as a hero which is being helmed by S R Prabhakaran of Sundarapandian fame has been tentatively titled Kadhirvelin Kadhali.
Nayanthara would be pairing up with Udaya in the film, while Santhanam and Parotta Suri are also expected to be part of the movie.
It is said that comedy, romance and sentiment would be all be present in good measure in the film like it did in Prabhakaran’s Sundarapandian.

Meanwhile, if sources are to be believed, Anirudh has apparently landed another big project - Udhayanidhi Stalin's second film as a hero to be directed by Sundarapandian-fame S R Prabhakaran.
The film will see Udhayanidhi pair up with Nayanthara while Santhanam will be seen in an important role.
A few films including Seenu Ramasamy's Neeraparavai were scheduled to hit theatres for Deepavali festival. However, due to various reasons, they didn't and now the makers have put off plans to release it on November 23 as Vijay's Thuppakki is still running to packed houses.
Udhayanidhi Stalin's production venture Neerparavai which was earlier scheduled for a November 23 release has been postponed to November 30.
Seenu Ramasamy or rather Red Giant Movies has had its wish fulfilled. The director's Neerparavai, which is ready to release after getting a 'U' certificate from the Censor Board, has also got the nod from a city court with regards to tax exemption.
Following this, the production house is moving things on a fast track to ensure a grand release for the movie. According to sources, Red Giant Movies is planning some aggressive promotional strategies.
The Madras High Court has ordered Tamil Nadu state government to give tax exemption to Neerparavai. Producer Udhayanidhi Stalin has confirmed this and has expressed his happiness. The film is directed by national award-winner Seenu Ramasamy.
